I Finally Listened

Ever since I was a little girl, I've always tried to follow my older sister's footsteps.

Graduate from High School and go to college.

Graduate from college and get a full-time job.

Get a few years of work experience and go to graduate school.

When I was 20, I decided to fly to Hong Kong by myself without having the slightest clue to what to expect.

I turned 21 a week after I arrived and the strangers (eventually became my best friends) gathered the entire 100+ exchange students and sand "Happy Birthday" to me on the second tallest building in Hong Kong - IFC tower.

I went to Macau and went bungee jumping on the world's tallest bungee jump. I succeeded.

Five months passed and I had the best time of my life. The best.

I will be turning 25 in two months and I'm trying so hard to not ask myself "what am I doing with my life?"

All my life, I was surrounded by those that took the traditional route and those that did nothing. It wasn't me.

My longest relationship lasted for 3 years. It was always you and not me. It didn't end so well, but it taught me everything I needed to know how to be strong. I thank you for that.

After months and years fly by, I finally decided to listen to myself.

It is wildly exhilarating to declare yourself free from all that everybody is expecting you to do. - Abigail Green

My whole family may not support my decision, but they understand.

I'm ready to welcome every bump on the road with open arms.

Be free.

Everyday Words

We all have dreams. Some of us want to be lawyers or doctors, some of us want to be businessmen. Some of us want to be world renowned fashion designers, and some, elementary school teachers or auto repair shop owners. Dreams and aspirations come in many shapes and sizes, but no matter how big or small, I believe that we all have the capacity to achieve our dreams. As a dreamer, it is your responsibility to take initiative. Find the path that leads to your dream, and run. Don’t wait for the path to find you. Get up, go out, and find the path. If the road isn’t paved yet, pave it.
The road WILL have pot holes and traffic jams. You may get a flat tire and have to phone for help. You might run out of fuel and have to walk eight and a half miles to the nearest gas station before you can get back on the road toward your destination; but the road is drivable. You just have to keep driving. No one man or woman achieves greatness over night. It takes patience, courage, hard work, and an unrelenting pursuit of your greatest desire.

Isabel Marant

These ankle boots from Isabel Marant are the best boots ever made! I needed some trustworthy shoes to bring with me to Philly this past weekend and didn't have to think twice about bringing these bad boys. Not only are they comfy, but super reliable when you know you're going to be walking for hours, hours, and hours! They are definitely an A+ in my shoe collection and the best booties I've "splurged" on.
